Clearview AI faces $45.6M fine in the Netherlands for 'illegal database of faces

The Dutch data protection authority fined Clearview AI €30.5M ($45.6M Cdn) for its 'illegal database' of faces. This comes in violation of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. Clearview, claiming non-subjection to EU laws, faces additional noncompliance penalties up to €5.1M.
